The Brucknerhaus is the most important concert hall in Linz, named after the Upper Austrian–born composer Anton Bruckner. Opened in 1974 directly on the bank of the Danube, the building captivates with its modern, organically curved architecture and a great hall with prized acoustics. The house is the centre of the renowned Brucknerfest and hosts orchestral and chamber concerts as well as events in jazz, world music and literature. With its striking waterside location and varied programme, the Brucknerhaus is a cultural landmark of the city and a central place of Upper Austrian musical life.
