The ARGEkultur is the largest independent cultural centre in Salzburg and an important counterweight to the city's festival-dominated image. Grown out of an initiative of the independent scene, the house today offers a year-round programme of cabaret, concerts, contemporary theatre, dance and discourse events. With several halls and a clear focus on the present, on emerging artists and on social themes, the ARGEkultur is a lively place of critical, young culture. It gives space to rising artists and established names alike and lastingly shapes the independent cultural scene of Mozart's city.
