The Bühne Baden is the tradition-rich theatre company of the Lower Austrian spa town of Baden near Vienna and a centre for the cultivation of Austrian operetta. It performs in the elegant 19th-century Stadttheater as well as in the historic Sommerarena, whose retractable glass roof allows open-air performances. The programme centres on Viennese operetta, musicals and drama. Baden, once a favoured spa of the Viennese court, thus offers a special atmosphere for light entertainment at a high level. With its lavish operetta productions, the Bühne Baden draws a large audience from Vienna and the whole region.
