The Vorarlberg State Theatre in Bregenz is the central spoken-drama stage of Austria's westernmost province. Based in the Theater am Kornmarkt, a striking building on the shore of Lake Constance, it offers a year-round programme of classics, modern drama and premieres with its own ensemble. Beyond the main house, it uses smaller studio stages for more experimental theatre. As an artistic counterpart to the summer Bregenz Festival, the Landestheater shapes the year-round cultural life of the Lake Constance region and is an important reference point for Vorarlberg's theatre audience.
