Theater Willy Praml

The Theater Willy Praml is a fixture of Frankfurt's independent scene and performs in the atmospheric Naxoshalle in the Ostend – a former factory hall of the Naxos-Union, built in 1906/07, once a maker of grinding machines. Founded in 1991, the ensemble is devoted to powerful stagings of great works of world literature in expressive sets and with physical, body-centred acting; rather than a mere image of reality it seeks a "heightened reality". With its own resident ensemble, the house offers regulars and curious newcomers alike a distinctive theatrical experience. On the sprawling Naxos site it shares the halls with, among others, the Studio Naxos, the Naxos cinema and the cabaret Die Käs.
