Theater Drachengasse

Theater Drachengasse in Vienna's city centre, at the corner of Fleischmarkt and Drachengasse, was founded in 1981 by Emmy Werner, originally as a space for women's cultural activities. Today it is a professional stage closely tied to the independent scene, focusing on contemporary drama, premieres and first productions and actively supporting women theatre makers. It has a main hall of around 80 seats and the 50-seat Bar&Co for guest and co-productions, and runs an annual competition for emerging artists.
