The Kabarett Simpl is Vienna's most tradition-rich cabaret stage and an institution of Austrian entertainment culture. Founded in 1912, over more than a century it has produced generations of cabaret artists and actors and cultivated the typically Viennese, often biting humour. In its intimate hall in the Wollzeile in the first district, the Simpl still offers classic number revues and pointed programmes that take aim at current affairs. With its long history, its regular audience and its unmistakable charm, the Kabarett Simpl is a living piece of Viennese cultural history.
