Kammerspiele der Josefstadt

The Kammerspiele der Josefstadt are the intimate second stage of the Theater in der Josefstadt, set in the heart of Vienna's inner city near Schwedenplatz. Opened in 1910, over more than a century they have established themselves as Vienna's home of polished comedy and boulevard theatre. On the small, audience-near stage, conversation pieces, comedies and pointed contemporary drama unfold their special effect. As part of one of the city's most tradition-rich theatre companies, the Kammerspiele combine Viennese acting art with a fine sense of humour and timing. The house ranks among the fixed stars of Vienna's theatrical life.
