The Stalburg Theater is one of the most renowned small-stage venues in the Rhine-Main region and lies in Frankfurt's Nordend district. It occupies the more than 140-year-old dance hall of a former cider tavern – a tradition-rich building, given a baroque look in the 19th century, that later served as a dance hall and meeting place of a male choral society. Founded in 1998 by the journalist and cabaret artist Michael Herl, the theatre has become indispensable to the neighbourhood. The programme consists mainly of in-house productions: cabaret, theatre, jazz, chanson and classical music, enjoyed at one's own table with snacks and home-pressed cider. In summer the Stalburg stages the popular free open-air series "Stoffel" in the Günthersburgpark.
Renowned small-stage venue in the Nordend, since 1998 in the historic dance hall of an old cider tavern.
