Schloss Esterházy in Eisenstadt is one of the most beautiful Baroque palaces in Austria and a place of outstanding musical history. In its magnificent Haydn Hall – one of the acoustically finest concert halls in the world – Joseph Haydn served for decades as court conductor to the Esterházy princes and premiered many of his works. The hall, richly adorned with frescoes, remains the centre of a lively concert life and a central venue of the festivals dedicated to the composer. As the residence of the Esterházys and Haydn's place of work, the palace combines princely splendour with a unique musical heritage in the heart of the Burgenland capital.
A Baroque palace in Eisenstadt; the Haydn Hall is one of the world's finest-sounding halls – Haydn's workplace.
