Grafenegg is one of Austria's most important festivals for classical music, set in the park of the romantic Grafenegg Castle in Lower Austria. Its centrepiece is the Wolkenturm ("cloud tower"), opened in 2007 – a spectacular open-air stage of steel and concrete whose striking architecture offers excellent open-air acoustics; in bad weather the neighbouring Auditorium serves as the alternative venue. Each summer international top orchestras and soloists perform here. Under prominent artistic direction, Grafenegg has quickly become a European magnet for orchestral music, combining first-class concerts with the beauty of the landscape.
