Stage Theater Neue Flora

Hamburg, Germany

The Neue Flora in Hamburg-Altona-Nord was built between 1988 and 1990 to plans by the architects Uwe Köhnholdt and Konstantin Kleffel and, with 1,965 seats, is among the largest theatres in Germany. When the house opened in June 1990 with the German premiere of "The Phantom of the Opera", a chapter of musical history began: over 4,400 performances and several million spectators experienced Andrew Lloyd Webber's worldwide success here in one of the most effective productions of all time. A foyer in warm terracotta tones with modern art and red carpet extends over four floors — an ensemble that makes even the entrance area an experience. After "Phantom" followed productions such as "Titanic", "Dance of the Vampires", "Disney's Tarzan", "Aladdin", "Wicked", "Hercules" and currently "Tarzan" again. The Neue Flora is today regarded as a cultural institution of Hamburg and shapes the city's image as the secret musical capital of Europe.

Did you know?

The foyer in warm terracotta tones stretches over four floors — Stage Entertainment had it deliberately made opulent so that the theatrical evening begins already in the stairwell.
