The McCullough Theatre is a mid-size performance venue on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, operated as part of Texas Performing Arts. With around 400 seats, the flexible house offers ideal conditions for dance, opera, theatre, chamber music, and solo recitals, complementing the university's program with a stage for smaller-scale productions. It hosts university ensembles as well as the Butler Opera Center and visiting artists. As part of UT Austin's large performing-arts complex, the McCullough Theatre offers an intimate connection between stage and audience and is an important venue for the rich cultural life of the Texas capital.
The same complex houses the far larger Bass Concert Hall, with some 3,000 seats one of the largest concert halls in the region.
