Thalia in der Gaußstraße is the second venue of Hamburg's Thalia Theater, opened in November 2000 in a former industrial courtyard in the Ottensen district. Its flexible studio stage with around 200 seats has become one of the leading addresses for contemporary theatre: world premieres, plays by young writers, experimental forms and work by emerging directors. Theater heute named it Theatre of the Year in 2003 and 2007. Since November 2025 the Box has added a further permanent stage on the site, a space for young artists and the city's communities.
