The Tanzquartier Wien in the MuseumsQuartier is the largest centre for contemporary dance and performance in Austria. Opened in 2001, it unites a venue for international guest performances and in-house productions with studios, a training programme for professional dancers and formats for education and research. The Tanzquartier is thus stage, rehearsal space and knowledge platform for the dance scene all at once. Its programme presents leading contemporary choreographers as well as emerging artists, making Vienna a fixed point on the international map of contemporary dance.
