Szene Salzburg

The Szene Salzburg is one of the most important institutions for contemporary performing arts in Salzburg. The house presents dance, performance and theatre beyond the classical repertoire year-round and is the organiser of the Sommerszene, a renowned international festival for contemporary dance and performance. With its focus on the current, the experimental and the internationally networked, the Szene forms an important counterweight to the city's tradition-rich festival culture. It gives the independent and contemporary scene a professional platform and makes Salzburg a place of contemporary, boundary-crossing stage art as well.
