The Schauspielhaus Salzburg is one of the most important spoken-drama stages of the Mozart city beyond the great Festival. With its own ensemble, it presents a varied programme of classics, modern drama and premieres throughout the year. The house has a reputation for lively, contemporary stagings and thus offers an important counterweight to the summer festival operation. As a fixture of the Salzburg theatre scene, it reaches a loyal audience while also engaging in outreach work. With its continuous season, the Schauspielhaus contributes substantially to making Salzburg a lively place of theatre beyond the Festival as well.
