The Salzburg Marionette Theatre is a world-famous institution and, since its founding in 1913, a unique jewel of theatrical art. With artfully crafted marionettes and masterful puppetry, it stages above all operas – first and foremost the works of Salzburg's son Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as well as classics such as "The Magic Flute" and pieces based on "The Sound of Music". The astonishingly lifelike movement of the figures and the loving production delight audiences of all ages. On its international tours, the ensemble has carried the art of the marionette around the globe and made Salzburg known as the home of this special tradition.
