NextStop Theatre is a professional regional theatre in Herndon, Virginia, in the Washington metropolitan area, just minutes from Reston Town Center and Dulles Airport. Founded in 1988 as the all-volunteer Elden Street Players, the company first performed in a bare warehouse by the old rail line. The Town of Herndon then funded a black box stage there, today seating 104, with no seat more than about 20 feet from the stage. Since rebranding in 2013, NextStop has produced six to ten professional shows a season, mainly musicals, comedies and new works, and has become a fixture of the Washington theatre scene.
