SummerScape is the summer festival of Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, held annually since 2003. Performances take place in the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, designed by Frank Gehry and opened in 2003. The festival is known for centring each season on a composer or theme (in tandem with the Bard Music Festival) and for bringing rarely staged, often unjustly forgotten operas back to the stage. Under Bard president and conductor Leon Botstein, SummerScape has established itself as a place of operatic rediscovery and intellectually ambitious programming.
