Hawaii Opera Theatre (HOT), whose roots reach back to 1960 and which has existed as an independent company since 1980, is the only professional opera company in the state of Hawaii. Performances take place in the Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu. Across the Pacific, HOT brings grand repertoire to the stage and regularly draws internationally sought-after singers to the islands. As a cultural bridge between American, European and Pacific traditions, the company holds a special place in the US operatic landscape.
