The Friedrichstadt-Palast (also Palast Berlin for short) is a revue theatre at Friedrichstraße 107 in Berlin-Mitte. The theatre building was inaugurated in 1984 and has since been equipped with state-of-the-art stage technology. The Palast is among Europe's most visited variety stages and is famous, among other things, for its kickline. The term Friedrichstadt-Palast denotes both the building and the revue theatre as an institution with its ensemble. The name has its origin in a nearby house that served as a circus and theatre building for somewhat more than 100 years and became the Friedrichstadt-Palast from 1947. With its 1,895 seats, the Palast has been the largest theatre building in Berlin since 1984.
With 1,895 seats the Friedrichstadt-Palast is the largest show palace theatre in Europe — the 24-metre-wide stage is the largest theatre stage in the world.
