Dayton Opera, founded in 1961, is the opera company of Dayton, Ohio, and performs in the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, which opened in 2003. Since 2012 it has been part of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, a union of the city's opera, philharmonic and ballet – a model unusual in the US for bringing three disciplines under one roof. The company presents popular repertoire in internationally and regionally cast productions and is strongly committed to music education. In the Dayton region it is the central provider of professional opera.
