The Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah, north of New York City, is a summer music festival set on a historic estate with a Mediterranean-inspired villa and extensive gardens. Founded on the former country home of Walter and Lucie Rosen, Caramoor has been a centre for classical music in a garden setting since the mid-20th century. It became famous for its concert opera performances – especially the bel canto repertoire that conductor Will Crutchfield cultivated there for many years (now continued by the ensemble "Teatro Nuovo"). Most performances take place in the open-air Venetian Theater.
