The Thomaskirche (St. Thomas Church) is one of Leipzig's two main churches and is known worldwide as the workplace of Johann Sebastian Bach, who served as Thomaskantor here from 1723 to 1750 and is buried in the church. Home to the St. Thomas Boys Choir (Thomanerchor), founded in 1212, it hosts regular motets, cantata performances and organ concerts, making it a significant concert and performance venue.
