The Cultural and Congress Centre Rosenheim (KU.KO), opened in 1996, is the central venue for guest programming in Upper Bavaria between Munich and Salzburg. The main hall with around 1,000 seats is used for drama, music theatre, concerts, and dance guest performances. Like many Bavarian mid-size cities, Rosenheim does not maintain its own ensemble — the programming relies on touring stages, productions by local associations, and renowned guest performance series. The house is also the central venue of the Rosenheim Summer Festival and the International Song Days Rosenheim, which combine classical art song with contemporary music. Rosenheim is one of Bavaria's largest mid-sized towns without its own resident ensemble theatre.
Rosenheim is Bavaria's largest mid-size city without its own professional ensemble theatre — a consequence of the proximity to Munich with its major houses.
