The Teatro Sociale is the opera house of Rovigo in the Veneto and one of the most beautiful neoclassical theatres in the region. Opened in 1819, it captivates with an elegant, intimate tiered auditorium. As a teatro di tradizione, the house cultivates the grand Italian operatic repertoire while committing itself to nurturing young voices, among other things through a renowned singing competition. Beyond opera, the Sociale offers concerts, dance and drama. Set in the centre of the city between the Adige and the Po, it is the cultural heart of Rovigo and an important reference point for the musical life of the southern Veneto.
