The Teatro Sociale di Como is the opera house of the city on the lake of the same name and one of the most elegant neoclassical theatres in Lombardy. Opened in 1813, it was long the social and cultural centre of Como. Today the house is known above all as the seat of AsLiCo – a renowned institution that has nurtured young opera singers for decades and introduces children and young people to opera through its education programmes. As part of OperaLombardia, the Teatro Sociale offers an opera season from the grand repertoire. Set near Lake Como, it combines historic charm with forward-looking talent development and outreach.
