The Teatro Municipale Valli is the grand opera house of Reggio Emilia and one of the most impressive theatres in Emilia-Romagna. Opened in 1857, it impresses with a monumental neoclassical façade and a sumptuous auditorium. Named after the actor Romolo Valli, it forms the centre of a significant cultural complex in the city. As a teatro di tradizione, the house offers a broad season of opera, dance, drama and concerts and belongs to the network of Emilian theatre cities that develop productions together. With its scale and programme, the Valli ranks among the most important stages in the region between Parma and Modena.
