The Teatro Comunale di Bolzano / Stadttheater Bozen is the major stage house of the capital of South Tyrol. The modern building opened in 1999 and is equipped with several halls. As a mirror of the bilingual region, the house offers a varied programme in Italian and German – with opera, dance, concerts and drama. It hosts renowned dance and music-theatre productions and works closely with institutions from across the Alpine region. Set in the centre of Bolzano, where Italian and Central European cultures meet, it is a central place of cultural life in South Tyrol.
