The Nuevo Teatro Alcalá on Calle de Jorge Juan goes back to the Coliseo Pardiñas, designed by Luis Ferrero in the 1920s and later known as Cine Alcalá and Alcalá Palace. After years of closure Alejandro Romay had it rebuilt by the architect Margarita Massó and reopened it on 29 January 2003. The main hall seats 1,240 and the second hall about 250. The house is a regular home for large musicals, and Wicked has been running here since October 2025.
