The Freilichtbühne Tecklenburg is the home of the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg – an open-air stage set in the ruins of Tecklenburg Castle atop the castle hill in the Teutoburg Forest. With more than 2,300 seats (around 1,800 of them covered), it is Germany's largest open-air music theatre. Major musical productions have been staged here every summer since 1924.
