Biography
Frank Wildhorn (born 1958) is an American composer with an especially devoted following in the German-speaking world. His Jekyll & Hyde (1990/1997) became a Broadway success, but many of his later works—including Rudolf, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Bonnie & Clyde—had their greatest success in Vienna, Germany, and Asia. Wildhorn was at one point the only American composer with shows running simultaneously on Broadway and in Europe. His melody-rich, pop-romantic style has significantly shaped the modern European musical.
