Biography
Zeami Motokiyo (c. 1363–1443) was an actor, playwright and theorist of Japanese Noh. With his father Kan'ami he shaped Noh into the art form still performed today; his treatises such as the "Fūshikaden" are the founding texts of Noh aesthetics. Many classic plays are his, while others are attributed to him only by later catalogues.
