Biography
Sylvester Levay (born 1945) is a Hungarian-American composer who first became known with the disco hit Fly, Robin, Fly and a career as a Hollywood film composer. In German-language musical theatre he forms, with the lyricist Michael Kunze, one of the most successful teams: their collaboration produced Elisabeth (1992), Mozart! (1999), and Marie Antoinette (2006). Levay's opulent, symphonic-pop-orchestral style shaped the "Viennese musical" and is among the sound-defining voices of European musical theatre.
