Biography
Richard Adler (1921–2012) was an American composer and lyricist. Together with Jerry Ross he formed a celebrated songwriting duo in the 1950s, creating two Tony Award-winning Broadway successes with The Pajama Game (1954) and Damn Yankees (1955). After Ross's early death in 1955, Adler continued as a solo artist and producer but never again matched their shared success. Standards such as Hey There and Whatever Lola Wants came from his pen.
