Biography
Mel Brooks (born 1926 as Melvin Kaminsky) is an American comedian, actor, director, writer, and composer—one of the few artists ever to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT). Famous for his film satires from The Producers to Spaceballs, he adapted his own film The Producers into a musical in 2001, writing the music and lyrics. It won twelve Tony Awards, more than any musical before it. Brooks's irreverent, anarchic humour pervades his entire body of work.
