Max Martin (born 1971 as Karl Martin Sandberg) is a Swedish songwriter and music producer and one of the most successful hit-makers in pop history, with countless number-one hits for artists from Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys to Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. The jukebox musical & Juliet (2019) is built entirely on his vast songbook and playfully reimagines Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
