Biography
Russian dancer and choreographer at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg. He created the famous choreography of the second and fourth acts of Swan Lake (1895) as well as The Nutcracker (1892) in collaboration with Marius Petipa. His lyrical dance language lastingly shaped classical ballet.
