Biography
Jerry Ross (1926–1955) was an American composer and lyricist. In his brief but extraordinarily successful partnership with Richard Adler, he created the Broadway hits The Pajama Game (1954) and Damn Yankees (1955), both Tony Award winners. Ross died tragically young at only 29 from a lung disease, at the height of his success. Despite his short career, he left lasting marks on Broadway with standards such as Hernando's Hideaway.
