Biography
Jeff Marx (born 1970) is an American composer and lyricist. Together with Robert Lopez he wrote the music and lyrics for the musical Avenue Q (2003), which surprisingly won the Tony Award for Best Musical. Inspired by Sesame Street but adult, featuring puppets and humans, the work became a long-running Off-Broadway success. Marx, a trained lawyer, represents the irreverent, ironic tone of a younger musical generation.
