Biography
Henry Mancini (1924–1994) was one of the most famous American film and television composers. With worldwide hits such as Moon River, the Pink Panther theme, and the music for Breakfast at Tiffany's, he won four Academy Awards and numerous Grammys. For the stage version of the film Victor/Victoria (1995) he wrote the music together with Leslie Bricusse—it was his last work, completed shortly before his death. Mancini's elegant, jazz-influenced melodic style lastingly shaped the popular music of the second half of the century.
