Biography
Glen Hansard (born 1970) is an Irish musician, singer, and songwriter, frontman of the band The Frames and part of the duo The Swell Season. For the film Once (2007) he wrote and sang, with Markéta Irglová, the song Falling Slowly, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. These songs form the basis of the musical of the same name (2011). Hansard's intimate, folk-tinged songs represent a new intimacy in modern musical theatre.
