Biography
Federico Bellone was born in Milan on 3 August 1981 and studied performing arts at the Università Cattolica. At the Compagnia della Rancia he started as assistant director to Saverio Marconi and staged a new production of Grease at the age of 24. From 2009 to 2013 he was artistic director of Stage Entertainment in Italy. He has directed many musicals, among them Dirty Dancing, which he also staged in London's West End in 2016 and later in Madrid and Barcelona, as well as The Bodyguard, West Side Story and Mamma Mia!. He wrote the book for Houdini, un musical mágico and directed it; after performances at the Teatro Ariston in Italy the production opened at the Teatro Calderón in Madrid in October 2025.
