Biography
Eric Idle (born 1943) is a British comedian, writer, composer, and actor and a member of the legendary comedy troupe Monty Python. Known for his musical wit, he wrote Python classics such as Always Look on the Bright Side of Life. For musical theatre he created the book and lyrics for Spamalot (2005), which was "lovingly ripped off" from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. Idle represents anarchic British humour that gleefully mocks the conventions of the stage and show business.
