Biography
Cathy Marston (born 1975) is a British choreographer and dancer known for her literary-inspired narrative ballets. She directed the Bern Ballet from 2007 to 2013 and became director of Ballett Zürich in 2023. Marston creates works for leading international companies including the Royal Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and San Francisco Ballet. Her ballets after literary sources—among them Jane Eyre, Victoria, and The Cellist (about Jacqueline du Pré)—have been internationally celebrated and are regarded as a revival of narrative ballet.
