Biography
Benny Andersson (born 1946) is a Swedish composer, pianist, and producer and one of the four members of ABBA, one of the most successful pop groups in history. Together with Björn Ulvaeus he formed the band's creative songwriting core, writing worldwide hits such as Dancing Queen and The Winner Takes It All. After ABBA he turned to musical theatre: with Ulvaeus and Tim Rice he created Chess (1986); his ABBA songs also form the basis of Mamma Mia!. Andersson's music combines Scandinavian melody with symphonic depth and folk influences.
