About the work
“No Body” is a play by Hamburg director Mable Preach, who also staged it. At its centre is Lilian, a young Black student in Hamburg, torn between the pressure to fit in and the wish to be seen. Built around ten pieces of evidence of everyday injustice, the evening explores latent racism, prejudice and the search for identity, asking how solidarity emerges and what responsibility educational institutions bear. With song, dance, pop culture and a comic-book aesthetic, drawn video worlds and comic-style tower blocks, it is accessible and politically precise at once. The youth production runs about 70 minutes without an interval and premiered on 20 May 2026 at the Thalia Theater's Gaußstraße venue.
