About the work
“Luziwuzi – I Am the Empress” tells the life of Archduke Ludwig Viktor, youngest brother of Emperor Franz Joseph, known at court as “Luziwuzi”. A free spirit who lived his homosexuality remarkably openly for his time and a notorious gossip, he was eventually brought down by a scandal at a bathhouse and sent into exile. Ruth Brauer-Kvam and Fabian Pfleger turn his story into a glittering, comic and melancholy revue with live music by Kyrre Kvam. In the title role, Tom Neuwirth, known as Conchita Wurst, made his acclaimed acting debut. It premiered in February 2024 at the Rabenhof Theater in Vienna.
