About the work
"La vita comincia ogni mattina" ("Life Begins Every Morning") is a comedy by the Italian authors Italo Terzoli and Enrico Vaime, staged in Milan in 1981 under the direction of Pietro Garinei. Gino Bramieri and Carmen Scarpitta played the leading roles.
Plot
Factory owner Giulio Cogliati's life is thrown off course by his passion for the much younger Brazilian Isabel, and within a few hours he must decide whether to leave his wife Lucia or stay. The play stages this pressure to choose as a turbulent boulevard comedy about a late-life crisis.
Cultural significance
The comedy belongs to the long and successful run of stage and television work the writing duo Terzoli/Vaime produced for Pietro Garinei's team; a television version, directed by the same Garinei, followed in 1983.
